Khan Academy is resource for both students and parents. If you or your child need more information or help on a subject, Khan Academy has a ton of videos that can explain lessons in multiple subjects. I suggest this website because the lessons are explained in a very clear way.
If you are trying to learn a language, this a great website to help you get started. This is a free website that is student, staff, and parent friendly. The short language lessons make learning a second, third, or even fourth language that much easier. I think this website makes learning another language more attainable.
Scholastic is website that can be used by students, staff, and parents. On Scholastic's website you can purchase new books, play online games that connect to books, learn new tips for student success, and so much more. There is also great resources that could benefit students during school breaks.
Brain pop is very useful for expanding learning. There are activities and information on just about every subject. You can either sign up on the website or view the free resources that are available each day.
Adapted Mind is a website that can be personalized to whatever grade you are wanting to work on skills from. For example, if you or your child is one of my third graders, you can work on hundreds of skills that will help you in 3rd grade Math and Reading. This is a great resource for brushing up on skills before standardized tests or even before moving on to the next grade level.
Fun Brain is website with a ton of free books. This would be a great site to use on a tablet on trips where you do not have room for a bunch of books. There are also some great videos on this site that teach great life skills.
DailyArt is an app from Google Play the gives you a "daily dose of art". This app shows you a new piece of art each day, along with a short story about the piece of work and artist. I use this app in my classroom to introduce students to new art work whenever we have a few extra minutes before lunch. This is a great way to introduce a little bit of art culture into each day. I also think this is a great way to spark an interest in art.
Google Classroom is an app that will help keep students and parents informed. This is an app that I use each year to inform students and parents about school events, class field trips, assignments, and much more. If you do not have this app, you will still be informed, but this is a great tool to keep everyone up to date.
Lumosity is an app for Apple products that both students and parents can participate in. This app gives you daily brain exercises to really test your skills. This is a great way to get students brains working on weekends, free time, and even school breaks.
Kahoot is an app that we will be using in the classroom as a fun way to practice our knowledge. Kahoot allows you to play games and take quizzes to test your knowledge. This is an app that can also be played at home for a family game night as it does support family sharing of the app.
